Mauli Dave (Singer)
was a finalist on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007 and also recently crowned Miss Teen India Texas 2007. Dave is also a professional dancer who was a finalist in Sony Entertainment Television's "Boogie Woogie Chalo America" in 2003. She has also appeared in one episode of the Zee TV serial, Parrivaar, performing as a belly dancer. Her towering personality of over six feet hight gives her the additional advantage of the screen presence no wonder the famed music director Bappi Lahiri called her "Indian Shakira".

Mauli Dave was born in Ahemdabad then she moved to Houston, Texas. She attended Best Primary School, Ahmedabad during her stay in India. Before participating in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007, she studied 2nd year of university at the University of Houston with "Graphic Communications" as a major. She attended Clear Brook High School in Friendswood, Texas. During her free time, she plays tennis. She had her vocal training in Hindustani Sangeet in Houston under Smt. Chandrakantha Courtney. She recently finished hosting "Rock n Roll Family" on ZEE TV with television actor Sharad Kelkar, which was very helpful in improving her Hindi speaking skills. She was also given a break by music composer Aadesh Shrivastav by letting her sing the title song of the movie "Love Ka Tadka".

The Federation of Indian Associations is a Fremont based umbrella 501-c(3) organization, Non-Profit Tax id #77-01-77823. It consists of over 40 member organizations. Over the last 21 years, The Federation has continued to work with its member organizations in working on various community based initiatives, and has emphasized that its members continue to remain engaged in every aspect of our community.

The FIA has also proudly hosted the annual Festival of India & Parade for the last eleven years. This event has continued to garner participants from all over Northern California, and has attracted luminaries and dignitaries from all over the world. The festival organizers have continued to organize this Festival which is intended to give our communities an opportunity to work together and present this Festival year after year. Every year, the attendance has grown and has allowed our communities, to get a better understanding of the culture, the arts, the music and foods of the Indian American community and allow our communities to further strengthen our bonds with each other.
